Location: Remote in US
Hours: Full-time
Salary:$185,000 to $200,000 Base Salary + Equity + Benefits + 401(k) match

About this role
As a Software Engineering Manager at ReflexAI, you will be a key member of our engineering leadership team, leading projects and teams as a subject matter expert, mentor, and coach. This role encompasses both management and hands-on responsibilities, acting as a "player coach" who not only guides and develops team members, but also actively contributes to writing code and setting a high standard for the team. You should have experience leading projects and small teams, including mentoring software engineers, providing feedback, and coaching performance. This role will also drive technical decision-making and communicate technical architecture to non-technical stakeholders. You should bring very strong engineering skills, and have a deep knowledge of modern web application tools and architectures including Typescript, NextJS, NestJS, Terraform, and Google Cloud Platform. What you’ll do
Lead, develop, and manage a team of engineers, including driving hiring decisions and managing individual performance of team members
Act as a "player coach" by actively contributing to code development, setting an example for the team with hands-on involvement in projects
Guide the technical direction of one or two units of engineers (full stack ‘pods’) and ensure alignment with product roadmap
Assign and prioritize work to team members in line with their roles, responsibilities, and the product roadmap
Partner with product and machine learning counterparts to develop and implement a clear technical strategy that allows ReflexAI to scale its platform efficiently
Actively participate in all phases of the software development cycle to deliver high-quality and stable software based on customer, business, and technical requirements
Collaborate closely with product and machine learning teams on scoping, prioritization, and achievement of high-impact goals
Work with Product Management to prioritize the product roadmap and assign tasks to key individuals within the unit
Execute technical tasks as needed, balancing them with team capacity constraints
Serve as a thought partner in broader strategic decisions and the continued growth of the engineering team, including strategic and financial planning

Ability to explain and present technical concepts to a wide range of stakeholders including technical experts and broader audiences

Professional experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Significant experience architecting, developing, and launching software products and/or services, specifically with technologies like Typescript, NestJS, NextJS and Terraform
